Gone to Governors – Eli Paperboy Reed

February 17, 2011

Life on the L train

Eli Paperboy Reed hasn’t taken the conventional route; his soulful voice has taken him to farflung places in the Mississipi Delta, to organ sessions in a Southside Chicago church, to where he is now: a bonafide star. Here he performs his track “Name Calling” from his major label debut on Capital Records, Come And Get It, at the Lorimer subway station in Brooklyn as part of the Gone to Governors film series, exclusively on Converse.com

  • pam Saw Eli at Albany Lark Fest last year. I was sold on the sound. Love to hear him hit those high notes, love that you just can't imagine by looking at his straight, geeky looking self, that he is a smoldering soul man. "All right Brother", the guy with his daughter said to him after the song in the subway. He got it. That says it all. Thu Feb 17, 2011
