Rubber Tracks

Feature

October 5, 2010

We have opened our community-based recording studio in Brooklyn. For real.

Rubber Tracks serves as a catalyst for originality by giving new and emerging bands the opportunity to record their songs in a high-quality studio setting. Musicians of all genres are able to apply in advance for a time to use the studio – for free. As in no cost.

Rubber Tracks also gives bands the means to expose their music to a much larger audience through content captured while recording, including songs and behind-the-scenes video. Artists have the option to utilize Converse.com and our social media channels to promote their content, potentially reaching millions.

If you’re ready, then click the image to the right and sign up your band for studio time.

In this video, a group of artists and music industry pros talk about starting out in music and their first studio experiences.

  • giorgio "Good Idea,Bad Idea" I think that its about time that converse actively did something to acquire the peoples' intrest that actually wear the shoes'and support the brand . Since being taken over by nike , in my personal opinion the brand kind of got bigger than they thought they were{espicially in price},and forgot about the people that put them where they are today{the little people}.As long as they can stay true to their core marketing audience and can be innovative, cost efficient and comfortable , this brand will be around for many more years to come.I love the brand , but the day nike took it over , was the day that I stopped wearing the shoes , and the sweatshirts, and the socks etc....The idea of getting folks to appeal to you is something that you can't buy out of the store. A "broke" person will believe anything that you tell him and a rich person will buy anything that you _sell_ him. My advice to the good people of "CONverse" would be to stay down with your core customer's until you all bounce back up again. "cut me in , or cut it out " - GIORGIO - This is how we would say on the streets of saint louis,MO . we spend money with each other in order to keep our money in our circles of sucess. If your not in someone's circle then the elements of nature[fire, earth, wind, water]just may eat you alive a little bit quicker. Tue Oct 12, 2010
  • Tara O'Grady I've been singing jazz standards in bars and clubs for years but recently decided I wanted to make a CD. Since my parents are from Ireland, I grew up on Irish traditional music, but since I grew up in NYC, jazz is in my walk and talk. So I decided to perform 200 year old Irish songs in a swing, jazz and blues style, with vocals reminiscent of Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. I used my own cash to make a demo CD of 9 tracks. But now I'm ready to create my own original music in this style that I've developed from hours of listening to everyone from Nina Simone to Hank Williams. For me it's all about retro. I should have been born in the 20s, 30s, 40s or 50s. But here I am, ready to record in 2011. Because I didn't have much money, and a basement recording wasn't going to cut it, I booked studio time for 6 hours last spring to record 9 songs that were never rehearsed with musicians. We recorded everything live in one take. And I think the outcome is pretty darn good. But I want to discover what can be accomplished with the freedom of time and space. Please keep me informed of your new studio opportunity. Thank you! (BTW - I bleached my black Converse in high school so they had white splotches.) www.taraogradymusic.com Tue Oct 12, 2010
